THE LOST DOGS' HOME is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 01 Jul 2006. It is covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.  Donations over AUD $2 are tax deductable for Australian Tax Payers.

The Lost Dogs’ Home has been providing care for lost, stray, injured and abandoned cats and dogs since 1910. This legacy of compassion continues today through services and programs that improve the welfare of unwanted animals. The Lost Dogs’ Home plays a crucial role in the promotion of Responsible Pet Ownership programs and is a strong lobbyist for legislation that will decrease the number of abandoned and stray animals being admitted to animal pounds and shelters in the community. The Home helps fight for fairer standards for those without a voice.

The Lost Dogs’ Home is Australia’s largest animal shelter with facilities in both Victoria and New South Wales. The Home rescues and cares for over 21,000 cats and dogs every year.

• Animal Management Services for local government authorities in Victoria and NSW

Veterinary services for shelter and owned pets

• A large Veterinary Clinic and Hospital for stray animals and privately owned pets
• A dog hydrobathing service
• Puppy preschool and dog training courses
• Boarding kennels and a cattery

Community Services

• Acceptance of unwanted pets for rehousing where possible.
• The National Pet Register – pet identification, microchip registration and recovery service
• Subsidised microchipping services
• A humane trapping and collection service for wild stray and urban cats
• A lost and found pet information service
• School talks on responsible pet ownership.
