Animal Aid - More than just a shelter 

Animal Aid has a clear vision and commitment to the ideal of animals and humans living in harmony, and to take a leadership role in achieving the best outcome for animal welfare.

Animal Aid operates as an “Open Door” shelter and never refuses an animal in need. Animal Aid recognises its responsibility to re-home only temperamentally sound and healthy animals and to achieve a rehoming program that provides quality of life for animals and their new owners. Animal Aid is a pro-active shelter focused on working with other community organisations and stake holders to develop practical solutions to problems associated with animal welfare and management. Animal Aid’s business arms and staff commit to reflecting this philosophy.

Animal Aid has been helping people and their pets for over 60 years and each year we receive around 5000 animals. We can provide a comprehensive range of animal welfare services, we reunite lost pets with their owners, provide veterinary attention, animal rehabilitation therapy and the chance to find a new and permanent home. There is a very strong focus placed on education throughout all aspects of our operation. Only through education, will we truly see any effective change in how our society values its animals.

Animal Aid can cater for just about every aspect of pet ownership, complimentary to our adoption program we provide Professional Veterinary and Grooming services, Boarding facilities for cats and dogs and behavioural advice and training for all pets.
